There were many One Medal Alumni running today at Polly’s Run, in Albuquerque.
Polly’s Run is a 5k and 10k road race dedicated to finding a cure for Pancreatic Cancer and to the memory of Polly Rogers and all the others we have lost to this terrible disease.
Nancy Murphy Bowles, who lost her brother Dino to pancreatic cancer was there and ran strong. It was also good to see a number of other runners who have shared One Medal tributes, including Christine Ford.
After the race, while headed to my truck, I noticed a friend, Myrriah, taking a picture of her friend Amy holding a tribute bib.
Myrriah and Amy have been friends since 2002. Amy was running for a mutual friend named Cindy who passed on earlier in the week as a result of cancer. Cindy was a teacher for Pojoaque Valley Schools.
What a special motivation to come across these two friends and to hear them share about their friend Cindy.
